This may be sacrilegious, but I think I prefer Rudi's GF bread to Udi's. Rudi's, whose name is suspiciously similar to Udi's, has a gf multigrain bread that is very similar to good whole wheat bread. And maybe it's my imagination, but the slices seem larger than Udi's bread.
I bought Rudi's GF bread at Whole Foods. It was the same price as most of the other gf breads, about $6/loaf.

Hi Debbie,
ReplyDeleteDayna Davis here on behalf of Rudi's Gluten-Free Bakery. I'm so glad to hear you liked our new bread. We also have cinnamon raisin and original sandwich varieties. If you get a chance to try those, please let us know what you think!
Thanks,

I think it's great we have a choice in gluten free breads. It's not about competition in who is better, it's about choice for the gluten free community! Rudi's Organic has been around for over 30 years, so they know what they're doing!
ReplyDeleteRudi's bread is being sold in the freezer section of Mission Valley Costco. 2 loaves for 6.99!
ReplyDeleteI just had my first taste of Rudi's Cinnamon Raisin Bread this morning and I have to agree that it has a better texture and flavor than Udi's. If it's really for sale at Costco, I'm there!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to add that I went crazy and bought two bags of the two loafs of Rudi's Gluten-Free Bread for $6.99 each at the Costco in Santee. It is clearly labeled in the frozon section GLUTEN-FREE! I have been Gluten-Free for about 3 months now and found that Costco is a great place to get stuff in bulk. I have a lot of stuff and photos of the Gluten-Free food on my blogs also! I am training for a marathon and being Gluten-Free has been so helpful with the pain! marathonadventure.wordpress.com. I love this blog and I am going to make a link to my blog to help with people struggling with being Gluten-Free! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI agree that Rudi's is better than Udi's for the reasons you mention - taste and size. I like when Sprouts has their 25% off everything GF sales as it is an ideal time to try some new stuff.
ReplyDeleteCostco has it for $6.99 for two loaves! Oh wait, someone beat me to it. HAHA, well it's any costco!
