Gluten Free Licorice

If you like Licorice and have not been able to eat it since becoming gluten free - here is your answer: Candy Tree Organic Licorice. It comes in both the black and red licorice variety as well as vines, ropes etc.

It tasted just like regular licorice to me - I would never have guessed there was anything different about it.

It is available on amazon.com for about $30 for a pack of 12.

  1. Is it really close in texture to the wheat-containing licorice? Sorta hard and dry on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside?

  2. I was with several other people when I tried it and everyone agreed it was good. However, I can't remember the specific texture - I think it was pretty authentic at the time.

  3. You can get them at vitacost.com too - I use them all the time to get lots of gf stuff at good prices. And $5 shipping for any size order. Thanks for the licorice tip! I'm adding some to my next order right now.
